Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on technique that uses subtle movements in the bones of the skull which provide gentle pain relief. The technique improves the fluid movement of the craniosacral system—the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, as well as the attached bones, including the bones of the skull, face, and mouth (the cranium) and down the spine to the tailbone. Improving the fluid movement may enhance and complement the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
This technique is used primarily for patients who experience migraine headaches, dizziness or ringing in the ears, chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma of any kind, post-surgical recovery, TMJ. However, many patients request this method due to its relaxing sensation it produces.
